Kein Drehbuch. Kein Film.

„Our strike has been exhausting but well worth the effort, and I urge all my German colleagues to press forward until you win the rights and royalties all writers deserve.“
PATRIC M. VERRONE – President of the WGAw (writer/executive producer „Futurama,“ writer/producer, „Muppets Tonight,“ writer/co-producer „The Simpsons“)

„The two segments of the American Writers Guild (East and West) have never been more united, and united, too, must German writers be to effectively reach your worthy goals.“
MICHAEL WINSHIP – President of the WGAE („National Geographic Explorer,“ „Nova“ )

„I’m confident and hopeful you’ll get the breakthrough you need for writers in Germany to finally share in the vast entertainment profits that the producing studios and networks have for such a long time kept for themselves.“
DAVID A. GOODMAN – Member, 2007-2008 WGA Negotiating Committee and Current Member, WGAw Board of Directors (writer/co-executive producer „Family Guy,“ writer/consulting producer „Star Trek: Enterprise,“ writer/co-executive producer „Futurama“ )

„Like it’s been said over and over, it all begins on the page. Let them try to shoot one that’s blank. That’s the message to continuously drive home to them until they play fair and pay all German writers what they ought to earn.“
ROBERT KING – Member, 2007-2008 WGA Negotiating Committee and Current Member WGAw Board of Directors (writer/executive producer „In Justice,“ writer, „Vertical Limit,“ „Speechless“ )

„I’ve been a WGAw Member a long, long time and I can tell you it’s never been more important than now for union members to join hands together. If you do so in Germany as well, there’s no question it’s only a matter of time until you get the royalty benefits all writers should have. I’m crossing my fingers for you.“

ART EISENSON („Gangster Chronicles,“ „Kojak“)

„You are strengthening our worldwide family of writers by standing up for your rights. Continued strength and success.“
LYNN ROTH – Former Member, WGAw Board of Directors (writer/executive Producer, „The Paper Chase,“ writer/executive producer, „9 to 5,“ writer, „The Portrait“)

„I am enormously grateful for your support during our long, difficult strike and I hope that German writers make great strides forward to get better earnings and working conditions.“
HOWARD A. RODMAN – Current Member, WGAw Board of Directors („Joe Gould’s Secret,“ „Savage Grace“)

„If you hang together, who are they going to get to write their shows and movies? But that’s the important thing to remember. You’ve absolutely got to hang together, and if you do you’ll get a piece of the pie. I wish all my German writer friends much, much luck.“
MATT GUNN („Real Time With Bill Maher“)

Und nach den Mitgliederversammlungen am 9.2.2008 erreichten uns zusätzlich noch diese Grußworte (hinzugefügt am 11.2.2208):

„The successful conclusion of the WGA strike shows it CAN be done. Unity is the key — stick together and you WILL prevail. You have our support, and our best wishes.“
LEE ARONSOHN (writer/executive producer, „Two and a Half Men,“ „The Big Bang Theory,“ writer/co-executive producer, „Cybill“)

„Old show-business proverb: ‘In Hollywood, you can’t fail; you can only quit.’ Fellow writers: Don’t quit — and you won’t fail.“

RICHARD MANNING – (writer/producer, „Farscape“, „Star Trek: The Next Generation“, „TekWar“, „Beyond Reality“)

„We are a global community of writers. Your fight is our fight. Writers everywhere should he concerned about any efforts to deny writers a fair and consistent wage or to limit the royalties that they receive from the commercial exploitation of their work. For too long, the German entertainment industry has taken writers for granted and elevated the status of the director. But it is the writer who creates the stories, the characters, and the memorable lines…and who inspire the directors to give us the images that convey it all. It is time that German writers receive the respect, compensation, and creative rights that they deserve.“
LEE GOLDBERG (Fast Track – No Limits, 1-800-Missing, Diagnosis Murder)

„I’m a television writer with credits that might not be recognizable internationally, but I’ve been a WGA member for 12 years and have lived off residuals on more than one occasion. As the WGA leadership kept stressing, ‘We are all in this together.’ This applies not only to our union but to writers worldwide. If someone keeps making money off of our work, we should get paid, too.“
LARA RUNNELS OLSEN (Boy Meets World, Reba)

Und am 12.2.2008 erreichen uns noch diese Botschaften:

„To our fellow writers in Germany and Europe:  stand strong, hold fast your principles and beliefs.  You are the creators of the intellectual property corporations market to make money.  The biggest lie in the world is that they do not need you.  Keep fighting the good fight.  Share in the wealth generated from your work. Stand strong. “
JOHN HUFF – WGA Member for 32 years ( The Nightstalker, CHiPs, Streethawk, Hunter’s Moon, “Cyxork 7” which proudly world-debuted at Hannover’s Apollo Kino)

„The key to our success was loyalty to each other, constant communication and free debate, hard work… and a good sense of humor. If we can do it, you can do it.  Stay strong.“
CARLETON EASTLAKE – (seaQuest, The Outer Limits, Farscape)
